The American Museum of Natural History is located on Central Park West at West 79th Street in Midtown Manhattan. Exhibits include the most impressive collection of dinosaur fossils in the world, other fossils, rare gems, meteorites and exhibits on extinct mammals.
Exhibits are divided into 42 halls and are enhanced by state-of-the-art visual presentations, computer screens and interactive displays.
There is also an IMAX theater with larger-than-life films pertaining to nature and the Hayden Planetarium which is currently closed for renovation and is expected to reopen as the Center for Earth and Space sometime next year.
